We have just concluded the largest celebration of Software Freedom Day that the Philippines has ever seen. With around 700 participants flocking into the UP Diliman College of Education, SFD Philippines 2010 has topped every previous main celebration in the extent of its reach in promoting the virtues of Free/Open Source Software or FOSS.

If you have scanned through the FOSS Bill, you have probably chanced upon the mention of Exist. The Computer Professionals' Union, lead organizer of SFD Philippines 2010, launched FOSS Week this September 13 with an early celebration of SFD at the Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Lipa in Batangas. Coordinated with another CPU organization, the school-based Circle of Users and Programmers, the celebration was also the kick-off of KLL's IT Week.

The SFD Network welcomes aboard SolidHosting.PH as a co-presentor to SFD Philippines 2010! They will be providing hosting plans to giveaway to online registrants. Here is a little write-up about them:

Here are the proposed shirt designs for SFD Philippines 2010! Prominent on the lower right corner of the shirt's front is the FOSSter logo, with typefaces on the front and the back varying from each design. Also, we're open to suggestions on shirt type and color. Should it be a polo shirt, or just a plain tee? Should it be green, black or yellow-orange? I would like to first of all thank everyone for attending the opening ceremonies of the 2nd House of Representatives FOSS Week.
